"I dont know if it's the "Tuesday" chef, but everything I got was mediocre at best.
I usually get the Ultimate Fish and Chips, and I'm always excited to see that big piece of fish, but it just was not good. The batter, which is usually light and crispy, was thick and chewy, the inside of the batter where the fish is was just uncooked. The batter was like a thick piece of fabric. It came off the fish in one piece and FOLDED. The batter pulled away from the fish as soon as I cut it. The fish inside was fine. I ate that on its own. Can I also say that while we got a couple of little containers of tartar sauce for the fish, they were only halfway filled. Not enough for the fish.
The Shepherds Pie, which is usually pretty good, was a bit tinny, very metallic in taste. For the price of this dish, it was not done well—as well as I have had it here in the past.
Buffalo wings were good. No problem there.
Salad was good as well.
All in all, for spending over $100 for dinner, I don't think I got my money's worth.
I'll be taking a break from you, St Stephen's Green. I'm very disappointed.

"I got a Guinness steakpie and it had big hunks of slimy fat (34). I also ordered the the salmon plate ($36.40) that was about the size of a kid's serving. Both came with mashed potato's missing the promised gravy on all orders. Then to add insult to injury they included a DoorDash price mark up of over 20%! I don't like being taken by unscrupulous restaurants. I won't order here again and suggest you use caution with this restaurant! "

I go to the reviews see what's up with City Fish and Chips I scroll through the reviews boy the first half were all 5 stars pictures looked mouth watering with healthy portions. I took a chance and hit the jack pot City Fish is my end all This will be my go to anytime I crave fish, salads and all City Fish offers on its menu. You will have to taste for yourself. City Fish is now on very few list of places I will eat. Oh did I mention how picky, that's the reason for such a short list, as I'm also creature of habit if I find a decent place to eat I stick with it. The only downside (?) is that they give you a lot but the tenders don't reheat that well. The Eureka salad I got on the side is a new favorite of mine; I'm not used to getting raw broccolini and green beans in my salads, but I'm glad someone is now properly appreciating them. "The combo tempura is definitely a PASS. It's pretty common to have at least two pieces of shrimp (the photo even shows two), but this came with one tiny, poorly fried shrimp. Even the veggies were scarce; seems like they went heavy on the fried onions to fill it out.
I ordered the two item bento (salmon teriyaki and california roll). The salmon was squishy and not cooked well all the way through. The sushi rice on the california roll was hard and bland, and the imitation crab seemed like it was also going bad. It had a grainy texture and a fishier taste than normal quality imitation crab from other restaurants. We had one bite and had to toss it. The bento was also missing miso soups for both orders.
I'd expect this from a fast take-out sushi joint, but for these prices, it's a hard "no" from me."
