So you can get imagine my excitement to learn that a restaurant serving authentic Trini food had returned to the area. My wife used to eat here when it was the original Teddy's and was also excited to have some good old home food. But I was extremely disappointed when I opened the container to see very small portions of oxtails and rice. The meat was tough and the sauce was very oily. Next I tried the doubles. The Chana had a very tasty sauce however they were a bit undercooked and hard. Not at all tender or creamy as I had expected. The curry chicken was lost in the sauce . Finally I got to the main event, the shark & 2. Fried Bake and Shark. It was dry and resembled minced shark not the filet that I was hoping to find. And lastly the bake itself was too hard and chewy. Overall I have to give it a 3 out of 5 forks, a hard pass but I would give Teddy's a second chance. Maybe it was just a one off and not typical of their quality. But the prices were very expensive considering the portion sizes. The meat dishes need more meat to be a decent value. Ultimately good flavors but mediocre presentation and preparation.
